Capstone Presentations

For capstone presentations at my booth, I had my tri-fold, end product , and poster. In the beginning, I was nervous but what made my nerves go away is when the juniors came to my table asking me a lot of questions. By the time the judges came I felt much more confident in presenting it to them. My overall experience was great. I was so happy when I was finally done presenting knowing I completed my capstone.

Capstone Presentation Assets

For my capstone presentation, I had on having a tri-fold that goes more in depth into my problem and solution. I also had my poster, my finished end product, and the top three drug companies that had the most ligation and lawsuits in 2014. What will make my presentation different is my title itself which is "Big Pharma".

Infographic Poster

My info graphic relates to my capstone in that it entails the problem, my thesis statement, statistical data, and my end product. However, I did have to complete more research within the pharmaceutical drug company world. I found the top three drug companies who have the highest rate of complaints and lawsuits forming against them. The info graphic was easy because I had all of my data from my capstone research and paper. Although, the hardiest thing was figuring the flow of the chart and where to place everything. I completed my poster during this term and the only tweaking involved was on my end product.

How to Create an Awesome Infographic

My possible idea for info graphics is complex two level deep graph. It will detail about the problem, its causes and effects, statistical data, and a solution. I will further then explain the solution and how it will better the problem.

PSA Capstone Project Concept

I addressed it very well and I meet all of my requirements.

I would have not changed my ideas so frequently. The hardiest part was deciding on which software would be easier to navigate and how to work the software.

How to write a public service announcement

Reading this article on how to create a effective public service announcement taught me a few things. I am not a very creative person but this should not stop me from creating an effective PSA announcement. When  creating a PSA you need to have a clear concise goal of what you are trying to accomplish with this PSA.  The goal is to get someone to take a specific action. During the remainder of the process, you must ask yourself if the topic is important enough to address, only talk about the results, use real language, emotion, make it personal.

I liked the Girl Effect video because of the simplistic video content it had. The simple words on the screen that displayed a powerful message. This would be great for my capstone because it is simple enough that I can relate to people. 

The Mexican Red Rump Tarantula 

I liked this video because it was more instructional and informational. I think this will help me capture my audience more.

My PSA:

1) My key points are going to define my problem, the results prior that lead to the problem, and the solution. 

2) Powerpoint and iMovie

3) I will do something similar to the Girl Effect

4) I will start of by talking about my problem and the relationships between the doctor, patient, and pharmaceutical companies. Then I will conclude an ongoing solution.

Capstone Project Statement of Intent

A)  The goals of my project is to discuss my capstone. I will be identifying a problem in my potential career path and coming up with a solution to better the health care field.

B) This is important because thousands of people die due to a simple problem that can be fixed. You should are because the same thing may happen to you.

C) These goals fit with my potential career because I want to become a doctor who will be prescribing medications to patients on a daily basis.

D) My project gives back to society in that it warns people the dangers of doctors prescribing certain medication.
